RU Healthy?: About the Blog


As founding editors and dietetics students, Randi Hardy, Rachel Schmid, and I (Alisha Carr) started a Nutrition & Health Blog directed toward the Rowan University communities. It is our hope that it will provide beneficial information to help students and the general public. Whilst there are many "claims" about health and nutrition, it seems as though the public is unsure. It is difficult to know what information to believe/accept and what to "toss out" as non-beneficial. As dietetics students, we hope to clarify nutrition fact from fiction and show university students how to live a healthy lifestyle, even in the midst of the craziness of everyday life. Our posts focus on providing nutritious recipes and advice on how to maintain healthy eating habits during a busy school year.

This blog also features summaries of Group Projects that were done during the Fall 2017 in the Introduction to Nutrition professions class taught by Maria Pontes Ferreira, PhD, RDN. These projects were meant to be beneficial to the community and provide helpful information to the public. Feel free to browse around and don't forget to subscribe!
