RU Healthy? Nutrition Blog Inauguration!
As founding editors and dietetics students, our goal in creating RU Healthy?, a Rowan University nutrition and health blog for students, is to provide students -at all Rowan campuses- with a resource for fun and inexpensive food ideas which are healthier than the fast food options usually chosen. All of the posted recipes were developed by our blog team members, so we expect that they will be in-budget for a university student, as well as tasty. We enjoyed the experience of making the recipes in the kitchen and taking photographs of the creations. In launching this blog, it is our sincere hope that students can experience this same feeling of wholesomeness, when you make these recipes.
This blog also features informative pieces at the intersection of nutrition and health. In this edition, we feature Group Project summaries by students of Dr. Maria Pontes Ferreira, RDN, in her Introduction to Nutrition professions class Fall 2017. These project write-ups are meant to be beneficial to the Rowan University community and provide helpful information to the public, as well.
The blog has a one page format whereby the viewer may scroll through all of the posts. However, readers also have the option to click on a "category" or "tag" which will take them directly to the posts that they're interested in; for example, if you're looking for the group projects simply click on "Group Projects". We envision future growth of the RU Healthy? Nutrition Blog, and encourage your submissions to our editorial team for publishing consideration. We are eager to see the blog flourish and have it serve as nutrition support for our fellow RU Healthy? classmates.
